Hold on to your meatballs and lingonberry sauce, folks! We’ve got some updates on Loreen’s stage presentation for Eurovision 2023, and it’s giving us more twists and turns than an IKEA furniture assembly manual.
The latest news is that a solution has not been found yet for Loreen’s stage appearance in Liverpool. In fact, the second platform hanging above her is so heavy (1.8 tons, to be exact) that the lighting platform may not be able to support it.
Talk about a heavy load!
But wait, there’s more. Apparently, Eurovision regulations forbid anyone from using structures hanging from the ceiling of the stadium. So, Loreen’s team has to get creative and come up with a new appearance that’s fair to all the other artists.
It’s not just a matter of hanging stuff, either. Setting up Loreen’s appearance requires about 15 technicians and can be quite time-consuming. Plus, there’s the risk of smoke (not the good kind) causing complications for her performance. Let’s hope she doesn’t get smoked out like a Swedish salmon.
And don’t forget about the commercial break that’s needed before Loreen’s appearance. No pressure or anything, but all 37 countries have to follow the same guidelines and restrictions when it comes to props and set design.
Despite all these challenges, Loreen’s team is still trying to find a solution. We’ll have to wait until mid-April to see what they come up with, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed that it’ll be a show-stopper. After all, who doesn’t love a good Swedish surprise?
