You don’t need to live in fear that your job will disappear.
And you don’t need to constantly watch job boards.
But you should know what you’ve built.
You should know what you’re good at.
You should have evidence of your accomplishments.
You should understand which skills are transferable.
You should have some idea of where you could go next.
Most importantly, you should avoid allowing your current job to become the only place where your professional value exists.
Because a career becomes much more resilient when your skills, experience, reputation, and relationships give you options beyond one employer.
So ask yourself the question now—not because something is necessarily wrong, but because it’s useful to know:
If I had to find a new job tomorrow, what would I already have working in my favor—and what would I need to fix?
You don’t have to solve everything this week.
But whatever answer you get, knowing it before you need it is already an advantage.
